Wizz Air celebrated the arrival of its second aircraft at its base at Varna Airport. This happened at an official media event welcoming the first flight: Abu Dhabi – Varna. The airline also announced the restart of the three routes from Varna to Frankfurt-Hahn, Nuremberg and Tel Aviv, as well as the increase in the frequency of 5 of its most attractive operating flights. From April 29, Wizz Air will also operate a year-round route to Leipzig twice a week - the first year-round connection of the airport with this German city. With the new aircraft, Wizz Air's fleet in Bulgaria reaches 8 aircraft.
The launch of the new route to Abu Dhabi from the sea capital is another proof of the ambitions of both the airline to develop the Bulgarian market by expanding its network and adding more travel opportunities, as well as the successful work of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD to enrich the portfolio of flights at Varna Airport. The flights are now operated three times a week, and tickets can be booked on wizzair.com or through the airline's mobile application at prices from 142.99 BGN.
At the joint event, Wizz Air also announced the increase in the frequency of its flights to 5 Varna routes. From April 14, passengers will have a greater choice of travel from the sea capital to the following exciting destinations: Berlin, Dortmund, Memmingen, Hamburg (Germany) and Brussels Charleroi (Belgium). Tickets are already on sale on wizzair.com and in the official WIZZ app at prices from 50.99 BGN.
Among the official guests and speakers were Alexa Weber, Marketing and Communications Manager at Wizz Air, Dr. Frank Quante, the CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD, the Regional Governor of Varna Region - Prof. Dr. Andriyana Andreeva, the Deputy Mayor of Varna Municipality – Snezhana Apostolova. During the official ceremony, they expressed their support for the expanding presence of Wizz Air in the region and the importance of the new routes for the tourist and economic growth of Northeastern Bulgaria.
