Burgas Airport with growing traffic and an exciting Summer 2025 schedule

This summer season 2025 promises more travel opportunities and more tourists visiting the Southern Black Sea coast

Summer 2025 is set to begin in a memorable way at Burgas Airport, which will offer over 70 routes across more than 20 countries! With new airlines, an expanded route network, and a significantly increased number of flights, “The Sunniest Airport on the Black Sea” is preparing for a busy tourist season.

On March 30, the airport will officially open the season with a special welcome for the first tourists arriving on a Ryanair flight from Krakow (Poland).

Ryanair continues to strengthen its presence at Burgas Airport with 10 routes for Summer 2025:

  • Starting in March: Krakow, Warsaw Modlin (Poland), and London Luton (UK);
  • From May: Vienna (Austria);
  • From June: Dublin (Ireland), Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia), Poznan, Gdansk (Poland), and Kaunas (Lithuania).

In addition to its year-round London Luton (UK) flights, Wizz Air will resume flights to 6 major European destinations in June:

  • Vienna (Austria)
  • Budapest (Hungary)
  • Gdansk, Katowice, Lublin, and Warsaw (Poland)

The national carrier Bulgaria Air will resume domestic flights between Sofia and Burgas in the second half of June (4 flights per week), increasing to daily flight frequency in July.

For the first time ever, Austrian Airlines will launch a new scheduled route from Vienna (Austria), with three weekly flights from mid-June. This route will offer not only direct flights but also convenient connections worldwide.

Discover Airlines (Lufthansa Group) will once again operate flights between Frankfurt (Germany) and Burgas from early May, and in July, it will add a new route to Munich (Germany).

Eurowings will resume flights from Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Cologne, and Hamburg (Germany) in June, followed by the return of its Salzburg (Austria) route in July.

Jet2.com is expanding its flights to Burgas, offering flights from 10 of its 13 UK bases. A highlight for travelers is the return of the Edinburgh route by the airline, which will be operated for the first time since 2022.

easyJet will launch its summer schedule in June, starting with flights from Manchester (UK), followed by London Gatwick (UK) and Berlin (Germany) at the end of the same month.

For the first time, Norwegian will operate scheduled flights from Riga (Latvia) to Burgas, in addition to its traditional routes from: Helsinki (Finland), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Oslo, Trondheim, and Bergen (Norway).

Burgas Airport’s charter flight program will start in early May, welcoming the first organized tourists from Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

On May 16, the first German charter flights will begin, operated by Electra Airways in partnership with SunExpress. This project will provide direct flights between Burgas and 7 German airports: Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart.

The return of SunExpress is very important for the connection of Germany and contributes significantly to the overall increase of the traffic from and to Germany by 71% compared to 2024.

Expectations for Summer 2025 point to double-digit growth of the overall traffic, with strong growth also from: Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
