Burgas Airport
On August 7, Burgas Airport welcomed its 1,000,000th passenger for 2024, as flight programs of 56 airlines to 90 destinations were served. The airport welcomed 1.8 million passengers. The top 5 countries from which Burgas Airport served the most passengers have been: the United Kingdom (429 thousand), Poland (398 thousand), the Czech Republic (234 thousand), Germany (142 thousand), and Israel (82 thousand). The top 5 destinations from Burgas Airport were: London, Prague, Warsaw, Manchester, and Katowice. 6 new airlines operated flights to/from Burgas Airport, and 4 new routes have been included in the airport portfolio – Liverpool, České Budějovice, Karlovy Vary, and Salzburg. A total of 12,902 flights have been operated at the airport, of which 5996 were regularly scheduled, and 5152 were charter flights. The largest number of charter flights served the following 5 destinations: Katowice, Warsaw, Prague, Manchester, and Tel Aviv. The months with the most intensive traffic at the airport were: July and August, and the day with the biggest number of passengers was July 26 - a total of 24,659 passengers. A total of 655 tons of cargo and mail were transported during the year. Top 5 airlines that carried the most passengers in 2024 - Ryanair, Smartwings, Jet2.com, TUI Airways and Wizz Air.
Varna Airport
On September 4, 2024, Varna Airport solemnly welcomed its 1,111,111 passenger for the year, with flight programs of 52 airlines to 108 destinations successfully performed at the airport for the whole year. More than 1.5 million passengers have been served. Most of the passengers have been served by the top 5 countries: Germany (363 thousand), Bulgaria (220 thousand), Poland (144 thousand), Austria (141 thousand), and Türkiye (135 thousand). The top 5 destinations from Varna Airport were: Sofia, Vienna, London, Istanbul, and Tel Aviv. Charter flights to multiple routes were performed last year – Ostrava, Bremen, Tira, and Barcelona, and 6 airlines started flying from/to Varna Airport. 12,282 flights have been served at the airport, of which 8383 were regularly scheduled flights, and 2147 were charter flights. Most charter flights served the following 5 destinations: Katowice, Warsaw, Leipzig, Antalya, and Berlin. The months with the most intensive traffic of passengers for the last year were: August and September, and the day with the biggest number of served passengers - 14,408 was July 16. A total of 136 tons of cargo were handled last year. The 5 airlines that carried the most passengers in 2024 are: Wizz Air, Bulgaria Air, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines & Smartwings.
