A solemn event marked the anniversary of the first flight on the route Istanbul-Varna-Istanbul

Varna Airport, part of "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" AD, celebrated with a special event the 10th anniversary of the first flight on the Istanbul-Varna-Istanbul route of Turkish Airlines! Special souvenirs for passengers, a raffle with prizes, and a ceremonial cake cutting were part of the celebration which was held on 11.06.2024 in front of all passengers and official guests from airport authority and the airline, among whom was Mr. Emrecan İnançer, General Manager of Turkish Airlines for Bulgaria, as well as Mr. Sedat Orman - Vice President of Sales for Eastern Europe of Turkish Airlines.

Early in the morning, the specially designated aircraft Airbus 321 TC-JSU, which can operate using biofuel, full of passengers, was welcomed in an impressive way with colorful balloons, music, and a cheerful mood, and special greetings to all passengers were given by Mr. Dimitar Kostadinov - Director of Varna Airport, and Dr. Frank Quante - Chief Executive Officer of Fraport Twin Star.

A few lucky passengers also won great prizes from Turkish Airlines and Fraport Twin Star, which will allow them to travel with a loved one person to a destination of their choice from the airline's network with over 300 destinations in more than 120 countries around the world, with a specially branded suitcase from Varna Airport.

Behind these 10 years since the first flight of Turkish Airlines at Varna Airport, until now, there are respectable numbers:

• Over 6,800 flights between Istanbul and Varna;
• Over 652,000 passengers transported between the two cities.

We remind that Turkish Airlines operates its flights on the Istanbul-Varna-Istanbul route all year round, and for the summer season (from April to October) the frequency of flights is 11 (eleven) every week.
