This year, the anniversary passenger landed with an easyJet flight from the English capital London, cementing Great Britain as the №1 market for the airport

With a memorable event this year, Burgas Airport welcomed its 1 millionth passenger for 2024. With balloons, a festive mood, cutting of a cake, opening of champagne, in the presence of officials and media, the passenger Mr. Paul Cameron was surprised with a specially branded travel suitcase, with which he can visit the Bulgarian Black Sea coast many more times in the future.

All 185 passengers on the easyJet's full flight from London Gatwick, which landed at 11:35 h. at the “The Sunniest Airport on the Black Sea”, were surprised with hand-made branded cookies as well as Bulgarian lavender oil vials, in front of Mr. Stanimir Apostolov - Deputy Mayor of Burgas Municipality, who graced the event with his presence and welcomed the tourists and the easyJet flight together with Mr. Vasil Atanasov, Airport Director of Burgas Airport and the Fraport team.

EasyJet has been operating flights from/to Burgas for 4 years now, carrying nearly 90,000 passengers, and this year has seen a growth of 44%, operating flights from 3 destinations - Berlin, London, and Manchester. Of these, the route Manchester - Burgas will be performed for the first time until the end of October. This year, the Great Britain market has established itself as the leading market for Burgas Airport, with double-digit passenger growth expected this year compared to 2023, making it the №1 market for the airport.

During this summer season, there are charter and regular flights from a total of 18 airports in Great Britain to Burgas, which are with 2 more connections than the last year.
